My rescheduled appointment was for this afternoon. I had confirmed it a couple of days ago on the website and everything looked fine. I received no confirmation call, so I decided to do one last check of the website this morning to make sure everything was on for today. Good thing, because the website said my installation had been cancelled! (Not by me, it hadn't.) So I call customer service. The automated system is still showing my appointment from last Thursday, which it says "should have been completed." When I get a CSR on the line, she discovers that my appointment for today really has disappeared. She offers to schedule a new appointment (this would be the third), but says they can't get anyone here today. So I say no thanks, and have them cancel my order. Even the retention guy says he can't blame me based on my experience. I'm staying pretty levelheaded about this... I didn't gain or lose anything except my many times on the phone with customer service. However, I can only imagine how infuriating this must be for people who have actually taken time off from work or otherwise have something invested in this.

For a Premise tech getting a poor signal could be few things such as 1) the loop (wire from pole to your house) needs to be changed 2) The port at the crossbox doesn't put above the minimum required speed to provide you with enough signal. This will result in a failing SAI check. This one over rules 2 though... 3) Quality of the aerial pair and cable guage. The signal can be strong at the crossbox, however if the aerial pr is bad then the signal will be poor at the customer's prem. This is an ongoing issue as most of the splicers and pair conditioners assume the cable pair looks good for uverse. DSL runs on even the most crappiest pair of wiring however Uverse will not. When the managers realize this most of the outside issues will be eliminated. Then the company can focus hard on inside problems as well.
