After being used to lousy service with Comcast and Dish, we had Uverse installed last Saturday,and I am REALLY impressed. We had a difficult install, lots of walls, old wires, lots of attic work, in a attic that was just loaded with fresh blown in insulation.. Installer was patient and thorough, he was here for almost 8 hours, provided me with 2- 8 port netgear switches, one in my attic and one in my office. After the install, he ran a bunch of tests from his truck and told me he thought I should get a new drop installed, for maximum signal. It was a saturday, and he order it up, and said they should be here on Monday.. Sure, like I would believe that! Monday morning, 9am, guy shows up to run the new drop. I wanted it run around the perimeter of my back yard, requiring ALOT more run that he had planned for. He happily did exactly what I wanted, and told me he would order the burial crew to come out in the next day or two.. Sure, like I would believe that! Thursday morning, its cold, raining and lousy out, and my doorbell rings; its the burial crew! I told them I have no problem with them re-scheduling, but they said no, they work in all weather, and went out back to start the burial process. They started to bury it in a way I did NOT like; I went out and asked them to re-route it a certain way, and they said no problem,and took out what they had started, and re-did it exactly the way I wanted! So, within 4 days, a difficult installation was done, a new drop was ordered, and run, and the burial crew came in lousy weather and buried my cable TWICE for me, with no hassles!! 2 years ago comcrap ran new line in my yard, and they STILL haven't come to bury it!! I am VERY impressed with how ATT has handled me as a new customer, and I just wanted to share that here....

yeah, it gets old on the internet with reading mostly complaining, **bleep**ing, moaning, and generally, only negative things get posted.. I like to let people know when GOOD things happen too! Now, I, like everyone else, am concerned about these new "caps" and limits that are suddenly being bantered about, so I hope I don't regret moving to Uverse, but I will wait and see how that all plays out..

It is always a good thing when the good things that are done are also told, to many times all you hear are the bad things. Welcome aboard and I hope you enjoy it!
It is all about choices, some are good, some are bad, but at least it's my decision.

Sadly, I did not have the same experience. ATT UVerse basically blew the appointment. I scheduled an early appointment 8am, and all indications are that they basically didn't know anything was wrong until I called at 10:20 a.m. (Twenty minutes AFTER they're two hour install window) Then they quickly had someone at Dispatch call me and try to rearrange for the same day, two hours later, but I had other plans (work, life, you know). Hilariously the Dispatcher told me they were running behind. They missed the first appointment of the day, and they're running behind??? Just tell me someone overslept, it was entered wrong, something. You're not running behind when you miss the first appointment of the day. You're basically screwing up from the start. And then to make me wait another two hours for you wake someone up, and get a move on. Really?? Plus the install time??? I rescheduled for next weekend, and then called the number they gave me for my UVerse rep (which doesn't go to the same person, now) and left a voice mail. They blow next weekend's appointment, there will not be a third attempt I'll just cancel the sale. I'm praying to God the installer is prompt as can be.
