To existing users, was your installation and connection done via FTTN (fiber to the node) or FTTP (fiber to the premesis)?

FTTN.

It is not like we really have a choice though. If we did have a choice, for obvious reasons I would choose FTTP without question.

FTTN, though I would also prefer FTTP.

FTTN here....  It would be nice to have been on FTTP but I don't see them running fiber to roughtly 1500 houses in a 30+ yr old neighborhood.

It seems like I'm noticing a pattern here; we were pretty much thinking we were "promised" FTTP and we're getting FTTH FTTN?

During a service call today, I was told that I have an "old" RG and that it or the coax (might be leaking signals) are the problem of my pixelation/freezing.

It sounds like that is in line with what I had read, we are having to settle for old technology, when we are supposed to be getting the newest, the best?

Not all customers are stupid...

FTTP and FTTH are the same thing.

As for the older RG, both FTTP and FTTN are using the same RG's (AFAIK anyways), they are replacing revision 26 with revision 28 RG's.

A question about your post. Did you mean: promised FTTP and we're getting FTTN? And I agree. we should be getting the latest technology.
Kudos!
