I finally heard from my states Attorney General (CT). They have contacted ATT about my audio drop complaint and are waiting to hear from them. From what jazz reports things don't look to promising, yet I believe the more complaints that reach the upper management the better for us.

Come on everybody out there with the audio drops, give your states AG something to do. Send them an email stating your problem, they will help.

Do you have a draft of the email you sent, might make it easier from a consistency standpoint if we were all saying the same thing.  Just a thought.

Fix the 5.1 drop glitch!

jmillrod,

My complaint at the MO Attorney General's office is still an open case and I think it would be a untimely to post it here pending possible future litigation. However I will say that it basically states that AT&T U-Verse is portraying/selling their service as advanced TV which includes surround sound and they actually are not delivering the product as stated. An analogy would be if a car was sold as getting 30mpg and actually only got 15...! How long do we think that would go on? My last contact did say that they were "working on it" without success at that point. My thinking is that IF (and I hope this doesn't come to it) they are ultimately unable or appear unwilling to repair the glitch that there could be a case made for either AG's offices around the country or a private law firm to file suit and request refunds and damages on behalf of ALL the affected users of the service. It would be a fairly big deal considering the bad PR and financial costs to AT&T. I hope that someone at AT&T realizes this and gets it fixed and soon though. I wouldn't want to be the employee who has to explain to the CEO how it got to that point. If it went the other way then all of us here would have to decide if we wanted to be involved. I would be happy to discuss it elsewhere than here on the AT&T site via my email which is [edited-pm poster for email].

I think this was brought up before. Everyone's situation is different.

I stated the problems I was having, and the things I did trying to correct the hiccups, like changing cables (from HDMI to Component/Toslink), using different brand and quality of HDMI and Toslink cables.I've even changed receivers.

I've had ATT to my home countless times. They replaced the DVR 4 times, changed connections on the coax, changed the DSL filter, doubled checked all the grounding locations. All this and my stats look great according to Tier II, yet I still have the hiccups.

I also told my AG about the numerous calls to support. Some techs were very helpful and dedicated, some said there was no problem with the system.

Like I said before, everyone's scenario is different. Just briefly explain your problem.

Good luck.

Kudos!

deesmac, true but we have all had similar experiences. I have had 7 yes 7 different STB/DVR configurations and multiple cable change outs. Let alone the futile and time consuming service calls. A new AVR and new TV along the way and still did not get it fixed! It was a coincidence there though..I did not go out and buy new gear just for AT&T...but as another user stated along the way, one service tech did tell me to buy a new receiver that would have HDMI and that would do it...some crazy stuff that lot's of us have seen here huh?

Just FYI... I got the ATT satisfaction survey, but it was all focused on their new stuff, multiview and media share. They did have one spot to add comments and made sure t put in my two cents worth about the audio drops. Don't know if this is the "survey" that has been referenced a few times in this thread, if so, it is very focused on those two technologies, not satisfaction with the service in general.

For the record, I posted my email address earlier on this page to allow communication between those of us who are affected by the drops outside this AT&T site. This has been deleted/edited by AT&T for "security or privacy" reasons. I apologize if anyone was inconvenienced. I am open to ideas which would allow site users to communicate privately and unscreened by the company if anyone desires to do so.

It is a shame that the actual employees who might fix this issue were as diligent and timely in addressing the technical repair of " DROP 2.0." while monitoring this site as well.

Kudos!

Actually the forum is run by Lithium Technologies and the moderator is not an AT&T employee.

Lithium's guidelines are fairly well set that no personal information can be posted.

Know you are just trying to help the cause that we all want fixed.
