Kudos to you both!   Know it isn't easy to quit, have seen others struggle. :smileysad:

Kudos for that. I am hitting my seventh anniversary of not smoking in October. I smoked for nearly twenty years before I quit.

Congratulations to all three non-smokers!  Been there, done that, it's not easy!

Congrats to the non-smokers.  I quit cigarrettes 40 yrs ago (yikes!), and all smoking (pipe, cigars) 25 yrs ago.  Best thilng I ever did (except for picking out the spousal unit!)  Question for those who have quit:  do you find ash trays and second hand smoke disgusting?  It seems to me, even after all those years, it still bothers me to be around smokers.  They have a right to do what they want, just not around me! :smileysad:

I have always avoided bringing up congrats for quiting thinking that would just remind an ex smoker and trigger something in their brain.

I think they are reminded every day whether they are congratulated or not.  That is how they are aware of how long it has been since they quit.  IMHO

I didn't like second hand smoke, smelly ashtrays, and clothes even when I was smoking. Second hand smoke doesn't bother me too much if I'm outside but I definitely don't like it indoors.
