I am wondering if the # of tv's effect the internet at all. It seems that when we added another tv in our kitchen, my internet pages started loading much slower than before.  I never did a test, but I feel like I wait a longer time now and have to refresh often to get some pages to even come up.  Any suggestions?

Kudos!

The internet speed is not affected by how many tvs you have.  It may be coincidental that your puter's internet access slowed down, IMHO.  If you like you can do a reset of the rg, and also if you might want to scan for spyware on your computer as well.  Just a thought.

If you have Max internet and are watching all your Tv’s it will impact your internet speed.

But it sounds to me that you should check out this thread http://utalk.att.com/utalk/board/message?board.id=HSIA&thread.id=3248 and move to openDNS

Max 18 is affected when watching all TVs, but not standard Max.  Standard Max (10 Mbps) will still carry 10 Mbps even when all TVs are in use.

This is with all four of our TV's on.  I just had to test the theory.  Not bad?

I don't know how to get my results on here, but mine are way lower: 2857/856.  Maybe I need to upgrade my internet speed to the next one up.  I thought I would start with the lowest and see what happens.  It is not really that bad, and not all of the time, but I can be impatient.

In a network that is running properly without interfernce or wiring problems the TV usage will not affect the Internet speeds unless you have the Max 18 tier. Even with the Max 18 tier, the download speed won't go lower than 11 Mbps from a reliable speedtest and the Max 18 upload speed is completely unaffected at 1.5 Mbps.

What Internet speed did you sign up for?

Log in to your account online and verify that it shows what you signed up for.

If you're using a wireless connection, you may have issues with wireless interference.

If it's all wired, it's possible that the wiring isn't good enough and you're getting errors. The more traffic you have on the network, the more problems the errors cause. So if you have bad wiring, it's possible the TV could affect the Internet because the increased traffic creates more errors due to the bad wiring. If you fix the wiring, the errors will go away and the TV usage will not affect your Internet. I believe HPNA is used if the boxes communiacate over coax and that can cause problems if the connection or wiring isn't good? Also serach through the posts on this site to see how to view the statistics and errors from your remote gateway. If you see too many errors on your network from the gateway statistics, you need to find the cause and fix it.

Thanks Joe meant to add that 18 on there.

Mark tune two of the TV’s to a real HD channels and see what that speed test is.
