I have the ATT 6Mbps internet, and am using the included 2wire modem/router. Whenever I am plugged in through ethernet the connection is quite fast, but when using wifi, the speed is terrible. Even though I have an excelent signal, pages will take minutes at a time to load. Is there anything I can do to improve the Wifi connection? The power setting is already at ten and I have tried changing channels with no luck. It baffles me because there are no speed issues when using a wired connection. Also, it is not a computer issue because each computer I have tried has the same results. Thanks

There's nothing inherent to the RG that would cause something like this. There must be either a lot of interference on the 2.4 band, or you have a pervasive computer issue on all your computers. I would try the following: 0) ensure there are no big sources of interference going on near the RG -- any electric or electronic equipment. In particular make sure you have no other wireless routers powered on. 1) reboot the RG 2) put your computer right next to the RG and try the wireless that way 3) check the signal level on your PC 4) turn off security on your wireless as a test (you can turn it back on later) if it's still slow I say you have computer issues.

He said he tried changing channels. There's no reason a Linksys will connect better than the RG's native capability for b/g wireless. It has plenty of power.

You are indeed correct... skimming posts can miss things A have found my version of the linksys to be a "tad" be better in range but not enough that I would buy it for just that purpose... I bought it because it splits the signal better. Has to be some kind of interferance.... 2.4mhz cordless phone, florecent lighting etc... When I installed my wireless a few years ago I had to switch from 2.4mhz phones to 5.8mhz (and some 5.8's use 2,4mhz also so you have to be careful) Now what can make a difference (and what many people overlook) is that it might not be the routers power or channels but rather on the receiving end. Some brands (this was much worse a few years ago) just do not play well with each other. Often their is a firmware update of driver update that can help. I rem switching my laptops D-Link PC-Card (they did not always have built in wireless LOL) to a different brand and all my problems went away.
